Here's What's Happening
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) proudly reminds students and families to join the Summer Reading Campaign, “Clayton Reads; Clayton Succeeds.” With nearly half of the students in Clayton County reading below grade level, we encourage all of our students to read for 30 minutes a day. Visit our Summer Reading webpage to access our K-12 booklists.
The Summer Reading Campaign is an excellent opportunity to ensure that our students continue to grow every day, even during the summer break. The goal is to challenge our students to read for at least 30 minutes every day to strengthen their reading levels and increase their readiness for the start of the new school year. Students may select from a wide variety of grade-level appropriate books across multiple genres, including biography, fantasy fiction, graphic novels, historical fiction, mystery, nonfiction, poetry, and realistic fiction.
Let's Make Reading Fun!
To keep the momentum going and make reading exciting, we’re encouraging students and families to get creative and share their reading journey.
Post the moment! Whether it’s your child reading under a tree, on the porch, or during a family road trip–snap a photo of your student (or the whole family) enjoying a good book in a fun or unexpected place.
