Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is continuing its commitment to responsible technology use and digital citizenship by launching a Parent AI Information Session to host all caregivers as part of the district’s phased Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy implementation plan.  

The district-led Parent AI Information Sessions will take place on February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The sessions will be facilitated by CCPS Instructional Technology, STEM and Innovation, and Library Media Services. They are designed to support families and community members as AI-related learning expands across the district.  

Purpose of the Parent AI Information Sessions

These sessions are designed to:

  • Build family and community understanding of AI literacy, responsible use, and digital citizenship

  • Share CCPS’ vision for AI integration as prescribed in the CCPS AI Position Statement, including guidance and resources for families

  • Strengthen transparency and trust as AI concepts are introduced in classrooms

What Families Can Expect

Participants will receive:

  • An overview of how AI is being introduced thoughtfully and responsibly within CCPS

  • Guidance on supporting safe and ethical AI use at home and in the community

  • Access to a Household & Community AI Literacy Canvas course, developed by CCPS

  • Language support, with Vietnamese and Spanish translators available during the district-led sessions

AI Literacy Implementation Timeline

  • August 2025
    CCPS students engage in the CCPS-developed digital citizenship curriculum in accordance with the GA Senate Bill 351

  • November 2025
    CCPS educators and support staff engage in CCPS-developed Artificial Intelligence curriculum via the “AI Literacy for CCPS Educators” course

  • January 2026
    District-wide communication and outreach to families and community members

  • February 3, 2026
    District-led Parent AI Information Sessions held at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
    Release of the Household & Community Member AI Literacy Canvas course

  • Spring 2026
    Continued family and community engagement around AI literacy and responsible technology use

CCPS emphasizes that these sessions are focused on awareness, understanding, and partnership. The district remains committed to implementing AI literacy in a way that is transparent, responsible, and aligned with student learning and community values.
