Jonesboro, GA—The Elementary (K–5) English Language Arts Department of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce that Amira, the district’s one-to-one online reading tutor, will continue to be available for all students through July 15, 2025.

Amira is an artificial intelligence (AI) program designed to support student reading development. It listens as students read aloud and provides real-time coaching to improve accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. Students may access the platform through the CCPS Student Portal.

This summer, the Elementary English Language Arts Department encourages all K–5 students to read with Amira daily. Students with high levels of summer engagement with Amira will be recognized in the fall, and the school with the highest participation will receive a literacy celebration courtesy of the Elementary English Language Arts Department.

Special recognition to Tara Elementary School, which demonstrated exceptional dedication, earning two ribbons and the Championship Banner for the highest percentage of students reading 30 minutes or more with Amira. The school logged over 1 million reading minutes and was honored with a Kona Ice celebration for all students and staff. Tara was also featured in the official Amira Learning video showcasing Clayton County Public School’s implementation of the reading support program and screener.  Check out the featured video below.
