Here's What's Happening
Clayton County Public Schools is proud to share the following information on behalf of Family Literacy of Georgia! Please see the details below and via the attached flyer.
______________________________
Family Literacy of Georgia is partnering with Arts Clayton to bring a free Family Literacy Workshop to our community! This event is open to all families and designed to make a lasting impact on early childhood literacy, a foundation for lifelong learning and academic success.
The registration announcement for our PARENT ENGAGEMENT LITERACY WORKSHOPS is attached. We’d appreciate it if you could share this flyer with parents through your class communications and emails or by sending it home in backpacks.
Workshop Highlights:
• Hands-On Learning: Over two Saturdays in February 2025 and one Saturday in March, parents will discover fun, effective ways to support their children’s literacy development at home. Families will leave with free books to read together.
• Childcare and Lunch Provided: On-site childcare will be provided during the workshop for children ages 4-11. Children will enjoy lunch and a literacy-themed art project. Childcare is $3/child, limited to three children per family. Children must be potty trained.
• English and Spanish Cohorts: There will be two separate cohorts (one in English and one in Spanish), and each will meet on alternating Saturdays. The final session will bring both groups together to celebrate.
• Community Connection: This event will provide an opportunity for families to receive free literacy resources and connect with a supportive community for young learners. Participants can enter to win a $300 Walmart gift card!
Thank you for helping us spread the word about this wonderful opportunity for families in our community! With your support, we can help empower parents to make a difference in their children’s lives through literacy. For tickets and information, please visit familyliteracyga.org.
