Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) salutes the Lovejoy High School Wildcats Cheer Team for winning the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Game Day Cheerleading Championship! The Wildcats, competing at the Columbus Civic Center, won the 5-A Classification championship, beating out Newnan High School and 24 additional teams for the title.
This is the first Cheerleading championship for Clayton County-and the first all African American cheer program to win a GHSA State Title! Congratulations to the entire team, principal Dr. Kelvin Griffin, athletic director Mr. Cedric King, coach Ms. Megan Washington, and the whole Lovejoy community!
