Here's What's Happening

Clayton County Public Schools, in partnership with the City of Lovejoy, recently hosted Lovejoy United: Healing Our Youth, Restoring Hope at Eddie White Middle Academy. Led by Dr. Micki Harris and Dr. Kelvin Griffin, with support from Mayor Marci Fluellen, the symposium brought together community leaders, law enforcement, educators, and youth advocates to address rising concerns related to youth violence, gang activity, and drug use in the Lovejoy area.

The event focused on strengthening communication, improving community engagement, and developing actionable strategies to support student safety and well-being. Local leaders and representatives from the Clayton County Police Department joined to share resources and reaffirm their commitment to supporting Lovejoy’s youth.

CCPS extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Harris, Dr. Griffin, and Mayor Fluellen for leading this important community conversation.
