Here's What's Happening

Updated

On Friday, June 28, 2024, the National Alliance for Black School Educators (NABSE) hosted its 52nd Annual Conference Kickoff Luncheon at The Commerce Club Atlanta located at 191 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30303. The NABSE Conference Kickoff luncheon was an important informational session that shared key highlights of the upcoming conference and gathered valuable insights from educational leaders and their communities while announcing Dr. Anthony W. Smith, Superintendent of Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) as the 2024 NABSE Ambassador.

Superintendent Dr. Smith charged all attendees to get involved and stay involved because our students depend on it. He encouraged all attendees to galvanize their communities to support the NABSE organization because their work specifically promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion of all students. Honoring the leaders that came before him such as Dr. Barbara Pulliam, who was the first African-American female to lead the Clayton County Public School District, Dr. Smith stated that he would not be at this point in his life without her and to see her actively support the mission of NABSE gives him the motivation to continue doing the work for our students.
